IrishMoto.com helps you ride the best of Ireland on two wheels — either with downloadable self-guided routes (for your sat nav / phone) or guided day rides (depending on what you book). You choose the pace, we handle the “where’s the magic road?” part.
What can I book — guided tours or downloadable routes?
We offer self-guided route downloads and (where listed) guided day tours. Each product page clearly says what’s included, how it works, and what you need.
What do I get when I buy a route?
You’ll receive a route package with navigation files (typically GPX, and/or device-specific formats if offered), plus a route overview with distance, ride time estimates, recommended stops, and practical tips.
Most modern systems support GPX (common for Garmin, many apps, and plenty of bike nav setups). Some devices prefer different formats, so check the product page for what’s included — and if you tell us what you’re using, we’ll point you to the right file.
Yes. If your app supports GPX import (many do), you can run the route from your phone. Pro tip: download the map area for offline use if you’ll be in remote spots.
Scenic. Always scenic. We bias toward great riding roads, views, and fun corners, not motorways and misery. Where there’s a faster option, we’ll usually note it.
Most commonly from Athlone / the Midlands (handy for getting anywhere in Ireland), but some rides may start elsewhere depending on the tour. Your booking confirmation will confirm the exact meeting point.
Most guided day rides run 6–8 hours including stops. We ride, we eat, we take photos, we pretend we’re not checking the weather every 12 minutes.
Small groups are best in Ireland. Typical group size is 3–6 bikes including the guide to keep it smooth, safe, and enjoyable.
Usually yes (if your bike, insurance, and comfort level allow it), but let us know in advance so we can plan stops and pacing properly.
No. It’s a good ride. Pace is set to suit the group, conditions, and the roads — with plenty of stops and no heroics. If someone shows up trying to recreate the Isle of Man… we’ll gently redirect them toward a coffee.

Routes vary by ride type. Each route page shows distance, estimated saddle time, and suggested stop time so you can plan properly.
Many are, but not all. Ireland has narrow roads, changing surfaces, farm traffic, and weather that can go through four seasons before lunch. We recommend checking the difficulty rating/notes on the route page and riding within your comfort zone.
We try to avoid anything that feels like a tractor test track — but Ireland is Ireland. Roadworks and surface changes happen. If something major changes, message us and we’ll help with an alternative.
Absolutely. Use the route as your backbone and tweak as needed. If you want, tell us your time window and start point and we can suggest a “best bits” version.
Choose your route/tour and book online. For guided rides, you’ll receive a confirmation with meet-up details and what to bring.
This depends on what you booked:
-
Downloads: typically non-refundable once delivered (because they’re digital).
-
Guided tours: cancellation terms are shown at checkout/confirmation.
But “free reschedule up to 7 days before”
Ireland does weather like Ireland does opinions — confidently and often. If conditions are unsafe, we’ll reschedule or offer an alternative plan in line with your booking terms. Light rain is normal; storms are not.
If you’re visiting from abroad, it’s strongly recommended. Guided rides and route downloads do not replace insurance — they just replace bad planning.
For guided rides where you ride your own/rented bike: yes, you should have a valid licence for the bike you’re riding and meet any rental provider requirements. If you’re travelling from outside Ireland, check whether you need an International Driving Permit (IDP).
Minimum: helmet, gloves, jacket, trousers, boots. Ideal: waterproofs (or at least a plan), layers, and a sense of humour. Ireland rewards preparation.
We can suggest reputable rental options and what to ask for when booking (insurance, tyres, luggage, breakdown cover).
Routes are built for normal road riding and follow public roads. You’re responsible for riding legally and safely, obeying speed limits, and adapting to conditions.
Yes. Tell us your start point, days available, riding style (scenic/twisty/relaxed), and any must-sees. We can build a tailored route plan.
